Wolfkop Nature Reserve have 3 hiking trails. A 3km and two 10km trails. Both are circular trails boosting spectacular views of the Citrusdal Valley and the Nature Reserve.

1. Wolfkop Trail: 12 Km Circle Route

The 12km circle route hiking trail takes roughly 3,5 hours. Rock formations (laid down between 500 million years ago by the Table Mountain sand stone group) paints the dramatic picture of the landscape including bushmen paintings dated 10 000 years old and panoramic scenes of over 500+ species of fynbos. Find a boegoe leaf for lovely flavour to your cup of tea.

Starting point: Park at Harpuis House and top of parking area and follow the gravel road, that continues in to the mountain.

Fitness level: The hikes can be done by the not so fit hiker, keeping in mind an ascend of 700m on the longer routes. Remember lots of water and taking many breaks inbetween.

Elevation: Longer circular routes: The first 4,5 km as an ascend of 700m. The next 5km has a gradual decline and last 1km 100m decline.


2. Leopard Trail – 8km

This is also a 8km circle route in the opposite direction.

Starting point : This hike starts at the entrance of the turn off to Kokerboom house.

There are 2 signs, Leopard trail - left and Baboon trail - right. Take the right. It will lead to a single track.


3. Planet Baboon Trail - 3 km :

Starting point : This hike starts just behind Harpuis House and ends at the beginning of the Baboon & Leopard Trail. Follow the gravel road behind the house up the mountain and sign posts will guide you along the way.


?For a full day mountain excursion, combine all 3 routes. This is a spectacular way of experiencing all surrounds.


Water: There is no water on the trails,

so make sure to keep yourself hydrated.
